High Point, NC – Gary Simon, owner of Simon Jewelers, recently announced that he is expanding and upgrading his business to encompass 4,700 square feet of retail space at the corner of North Main Street and Lexington Avenue in High Point. Increasing his store capacity by almost two and half times, the expansion is designed to create a more comfortable shopping experience for his customers, and to provide more room for both his growing customer base and jewelry.

The decision to make such a major expansion was not difficult, according to Simon. “After 19 years in the jewelry business in High Point, and almost a decade in this high traffic location, I am greatly encouraged by the support of our local customers, and those who travel from across the country to buy jewelry and use our repair and design services while visiting High Point. Our location in the middle of High Point, the international capital of home furnishings, gives us the added benefit of serving customers who are particularly attuned to fashion forward design. Our decision to grow was also influenced by The City of High Point’s introduction of the Core City Plan, which emphasizes this area as a retail commerce center.” Simon added that recent renovations like the new Chamber of Commerce building and the Bentley dealership also inspired his plans for expansion.

Office and shop spaces will be increased, and architectural plans include the addition of private areas for customer consultations. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer with completion planned for early fall, 2007.
